"When we moved to Omaha, we knew that the time we spent living in an apartment was not going to be long. Soon after arriving, we set out in search of our first home. We spent countless hours on the internet looking at listings for homes for sale and researching different builders. After looking at the many listings and visiting many existing homes for sale, we knew we were too picky to buy something that someone else had built – we wanted out own home the way we wanted it. Some of the first model homes we visited were Homes by Design one off of 192nd and Harrison. We really likes what we saw and after meeting with Mike Boyd, who worked in this particular model, we were even more excited to learn we could have the house customized and way we wanted. We wondered where the “catch” was and how much it would really cost. Being recently graduated from college, we didn’t have endless funds to spend on a house (or much of anything for that matter)
We liked what homes by Design One has to offer but we wanted to make sure they were the best deal in town for us. We spent several months and met with several builders and toured many model homes, but in the end we ended up right back meeting with Mike Boyd in the Homes by Design One model. They offered what we found to be the most customized home, with the most features for the smallest price. Granted, we did learn there are cheaper homes out there but you have no say in what you get. We didn’t understand why we would want to “sign our life away” for something we couldn’t customize and fall in love with.
We met with mike many times and reviewed plans, lots, extras, and anything else we could think of. He assisted us through the whole process and was there to answer all of our questions. Our house began to take shape in the late spring of 2006 and was completer in October. We are very pleased with our first home and love how it turned out. We can truly say that our home was completed our way and would recommend Homes by Design One to anyone who is contemplating building their own home."

"I love my new home built by Homes by Design One. Being a previous homeowner I had strong ideas on what I did and did not want in a new home. Our family looked at homes for two years finding plans we liked, but ran into difficulties when we wanted to make changes. Either they would not make changes in the original pan, or they tired to talk us out of making changes, or they could make the changes but charged a crazy amount to do them.
We then found Homes by Design One, found a plan we liked, and asked about the changes we would like to make. Not only could they make the changes, they were very excited about how the changes would compliment the home, and the charges were very reasonable. We ended up changing something in every room.

Dear Mary,
We wanted to let you and your team know how happy we are with our new home. Here is our story. We started the process of building a new home about 2 years ago. We had been looking at custom homebuilders in the area and were disappointed with what we saw. Most of the homes we were interested in would be too expensive for us to build. That is until we saw your models at Sugar Creek. We looked at the Elizabeth model for sometime and were very impressed with what we saw. The ranch layout was great and so open. We sat down and decided this is what we wanted. While driving by the Willows one day, we saw more models by Design One. We decided to take a look.
That was it! We were sold! The Victoria model was absolutely perfect. Similar features that we liked in the Elizabeth yet had more square footage. We fell in love instantly and began the process of building our home in February. Emerson Bostrom was our sales representative. He was fabulous. We would stop by the model at least every weekend sometimes twice_ He always greeted us with a smile and had soda and snacks for our kids. Emerson was there every step of the way. My husband is in the construction business so at times he had questions about things. If Emerson didn't know the answer, he found someone who did. We were the first home that used the level 2 Elevation on the Victoria model so there were some changes that were made along the way, but I never doubted that our home would be anything but spectacular.
We had sold our current home a month before hand and our buyers were pushing us to be out by the end of October. Our new house was not scheduled to be completed until the middle of November. We were not going to have a place to stay for about 2 weeks, and that was a big problem for us because we could not afford a hotel for 2 weeks plus one that took a dog and 2 cats. But we did not have to worry about it_ We received a call from Emerson that our house would be finished and we could move in on October 26'_ i could not believe it. We moved into our beautiful new home on that exact day. It was one of the happiest days of my life. I walked in that day and knew I would spend the rest of my life in this house. And that this is where my children would grow up, and their children will come it us. We are so proud of our home. Our families are very jealous of our house; however we have become party central for lots of family and friend get togethers.
I would tell anyone who is thinking of buying a new home to go in talk with Emerson, he will list out all the possibilities, and make your dream come true. We never thought we could afford a home like this. I love pulling into the driveway each evening knowing this is my home. And it is all because of Design One!
